Project Details
Following our public realm work, Delve were invited into a private competition to design a new piece of creative landscaping for a community house building project outside of London.
Our approach to this competition is strongly rooted in our experience in making physical installations and furniture design, as well as our innovative approach to using building materials.
The proposal is inspired by the historical artefacts of the past. The design deconstructs the form of the existing packhorse bridge into smaller curved forms, creating a playful addition to the public realm.
The form is explored at a human scale, allowing the community to sit and play on the structures. A polish terrazzo finish, with blue, green and yellow fragments will link to the painted adornment. The colours can be adapted in future projects, reflecting the areas identity, commemorating the past.
